Forester's Cabin has one double/twin bedroom, with bathroom. The kitchen is small, just big enough to seat two at the table. It has a small fridge/freezer, a washing machine, a dishwasher and an electric cooker. The sitting room has a wood fired stove, TV, sounds, a comfy chair and two divans, usable as sofas or single beds. There is also a cloakroom with a toilet and hanging space for wet clothes. This and kitchen have oak floors, the rest is carpeted
Foresters Cabin is timber built, with a flat roof and small garden. It is 100m from the Estate office and within easy sight of Lunga House, overlooking the Park with horses and occasional deer. It has a more distant view of the sea but overlooks a pond where wildfowl often appear.
It is slightly below the track, so easiest to park just above and approach by a short steepish path. Electricity is paid for by card meter, bedding is provided but linen is extra at tariff rate. There are heaters for all rooms. Some logs and sticks are provided for weekly lets and more can be purchased from the Estate or gathered.
Piermasters Cabin
Piermasters is a small cabin with balcony on one side just behind the Lunga pier, with views over its own small pool and then the vast islands of the inner hebrides.
Coire Lodge
The Lodge has two bedrooms, one with private bathroom and another with toilet shower, basin and washer/dryer. It has a large kitchen, with cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and table to seat 6. The sitting room, with wood fired stove, which heats the water and radiators, TV, bookcases, sounds and a full length sofa and arm chairs. The living area has oak flooring and the bedrooms, both twin/ double convertible, are carpeted.
Coire Lodge is a timber cabin, with decking, at the edge of a wood, close to an escarpment, overlooking the sea and islands of the Firth of Lorne. It has an amazing view into the Gulf of Corrievreckan between Scarba and Jura. It is reached by a 300m. track passing the horses in the Lunga park and has turning and parking for 2 cars.
There are electric heaters for those who do have a way with fires and immersion heaters for the water. The beds have pillows, duvets and electric blankets. Linen can be provided and beds made up at extra charge, if ordered in advance. Electricity is paid by cards purchased from the Estate office or the local pubs and shops. The cooker has a gas hob run on bottled gas which is included in the rent on weekly lets. A small supply of logs and sticks are provided, thereafter they can be purchased from the Estate or gathered in the woods. A cot or a barBQ can be provided at tariff rate.
Crowhill Cabin
Crowhill has a good sized double bedroom, a tiny bedroom, with Scots double bed (that means very cuddly) a bathroom and a small shower room with toilet. There is a narrow kitchen with gas cooker, fridge and microwave. The sitting room has a wood fired stove, which heats the water and radiators in all rooms. There is a divan, which acts as a sofa or extra bed and a couple of easy chairs, TV, sounds and bookcases with lots of books. For meals there is a table, with 4 chairs.
Crowhill is up a steep track, surrounded by ancient rhododendron and azaleas, overlooking Lunga House. It is really a large residential caravan, insulated and timber clad, extended by a block chimney stack and porch on one side and an extension, overhanging the hillside, with large double-glazed windows giving breathtaking views down the Sound of Jura to Islay in the distance.
It is quite possible to take a normal car right up to Crowhill and there is a turning head and parking for two cars. It has a small deck and garden space with table and chairs. Electricity is paid for by card meter. Bedding is provided but linen is extra at tariff rate. Some logs and sticks are provided for weekly lets and more can be purchased form the estate or gathered.
